Dr. Benjamin Mati is a board-certified family physician with fellowship training in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), and Primary Care Psychiatry. This rare combination of expertise allows him to analyze medical-legal cases from a unique vantage point: patient management from the initial presentation in an urgent care or ER through to the Intensive Care Unit.
His clinical experience spans diverse contexts: Trauma Center emergency departments, Critical Access Hospitals, Urgent Care centers, and rural Emergency Departments. He has an active clinical practice in academic and rural institutions with teaching and leadership roles.
Outside of medicine, he is a transformational coach trained in Hakomi therapy and is currently training as a Buddhist chaplain. With a background in anthropology, he excels at synthesizing diverse strands of information and distilling complex concepts into clear, concise, and easy to understand ideas.
